Love.

As soon as I saw this dress I fell in love.  Wouldn't it be so cute with a yellow or plum cardigan? I think so! I even have shoes to match!  Oh I can dream, but I just can't justify the price, hopefully it will go on sale.

Word for 2011

My word for 2011 is:

I have many goals and things that I want to accomplish this year, and so "Focus" seemed like a perfect fit for me.  Because I do have a hard time focusing on one thing.

Each month I will focus on a specific goal that I have:  For the Month of January it has been Organizing and purging!  I need a "House of Order"  to be able to function, and for the most part my home is pretty organized except for two rooms,  which has become the storage room for the thing we don't use. Yikes!!!

New Year, New Starts.

One of my students' mom brought me some fresh eggs right before New Years. They have quite a few chickens, and they weren't needing all the eggs at the time.  Aren't they the prettiest eggs you have ever seen, and yes they really are a blue green.    My picture doesn't do it justice.

I love the symbolizm of eggs and a new start, and perfect timing for the New Year.  This year I really feel the urge to have a new start, change some things.  Some things were an automatic change, with a specific event that took place a couple weeks ago.
I am not a very outgoing person, I like comfort, and anything that makes me go out of my comfort zone, and stear clear of.  I stick to my normal routine and really don't verture out much.  To be honest I am not as close to people as I should be, in fear that I will hurt someones feelings or I will get hurt. I don't do, or publisize things that I love, in fear that people will say that I am not good enough to do that.  I also do try new things, because it may take more effort then I am willing to give.
I never got to meet my niece Ella, but she truly made such and impact on my life.  Something change in me, when she was born and then returned to our Heavenly Father.  I want to meet new people, I want to better my relationships, I want to be a much better mom and wife.  I want to share the things that I love, even if I am not very good at them.  I want to be better.  I know that her short life was not ment to change mine, but it did, and I can't wait to someday meet her and tell her thank you.  But all I can do now is thank her parents for being such a great example of faith and strength, who have also helped change me.
I have many big plans for this new year, and am excited to start, and to share and to become a better person. It truly is amazing the way the the Lord shapes and molds our lives. I thanks Him for that, and hope to become all that I can,  but that will only happen through Him.

So I would like to that I am one of those moms, whos kids hair is always done, and looking their best.  But this picture proves me otherwise.  Tates hair was so long, I am not sure how long it had been since the last cut.   It  still doesn't grow well up front , but the back was so long, and he was starting to get wings.

He did not appricate the hair falling on his back,   he was so mad at me because I would stop.

Looking good buddy!  At least his hair looked good for one day.

I am really trying to be better with my kids hair.  Hopefully soon I will get my act together.

Thirty Three

He had to go to work, then come home and work even more.  Had homework due and  I didn't even take pictures on his special day. ( I actually think he perfered that way)   We sure do love him and so glad that 33 years ago he was born,  because where would we all be without him?
Thank you for being my world !

( Nate does not appricate having his birthday made a big deal, so I tried to keep it low key.  But I made him some pumpkin cake.  Its his favorite, it is mighty good if I do say so my self.  Now someone please come get it out of my house before I eat it all.)

Anger and Frustration!!!

Last year our garden was infested with bugs.  So bad that we had to throw all of the Broccoli and Cauliflower away, it also deformed my beets, chard and spinach.  Well I went outside the other day and guess what I found,  our same little bug friends, or should I say fiend.

Doesn't look too bad?  Oh just wait!

I  HATE these bugs,  they are everywhere, in every little crevasse, and they multiply like crazy!  I have tried everything I can think of to get rid of them.  I am about to the point of ripping up my entire garden.

I also have these lovely little caterpillars.  As soon as my seeds sprout they are there.  What makes me so frustrated is my neighbor who also garden, doesn't have this problem at all, and her vegetables are beautiful.  So if anyone out there knows how to get rid of these pest,  any advise will be incredibly helpful.  Oh yea and Seven, does not work, for the bugs in our backyard.  I still can't figure that one out.

Pride

I know that it can be bad to have too much pride, but I am so proud of my husband.  A family in our ward that had recently moved into a new house ask Nate if he would build them a built-in entertainment center for their family room.
This is one of the many coats of stain he put on the door to get it as dark as they wanted.  If you know Nate, you know how meticulous he is about many things that he does.  (woodwork is not exception)  So because of this it took many, many hours, too many to count, but it turned out so beautiful.

This is in the process of intallation,  only part of the trim is on it, and the doors aren't on quite yet.

Here it is done, and all polished and buffed out.   It has been in our garage for a few weeks as he was working on it, I would just go out there and look at it.  Someday it will be my turn to get something like this built in my house.
He search for a while to find the right hinges, so that they would hyper-extend, that way the door would not  get in the way of a remote. ( He is always thinking about the details)
The T.V. opening has doors that have accordian style hinges that also slide back and hide when the are open.  Hopefully its okay that I am proud of him for this.
We have been slowly working on our back yard for the past 3 1/2 years.  Yea, its almost done. Tate also was helping this day.  Digging hole where Nate did NOT want them dug.  It was right were he was leveling out the yard for sod.  Tate decide to climb on the wall.  Right after I took this picture I fell in love with it. I still am not quite sure why he has that hat on.  Because the kid is terrified of hats, and runs away screaming when you try to put one on his head.

Trains!

Right before Christmas we went to McCormick Ranch Park to ride the trains.  During Christmas the have the entire park lit up in lights.
The line was about a 2 hour wait.

But while some of us (mom) stood in line, we were able to keep the kids occupied.  Tate was not happy this night.    Until Grandpa to him into the model train rooms.
I think he went into the rooms about 3 times.
Of course they had to have Mater and Lightning McQueen.
It was fun to see all the details that they added to the trains for Christmas
It was so cold that night, so when we were almost to the end of the line to ride the trains, we got some hot chocolate.
Which Tate was not going to share.
Here we are all piled into a little cart.  The kids had a blast,  so did the adults.
Tate still askes when we will go ride the trains, with Granny and Grandpa and Brody and "Horsie".
Sorry Chelsea thats you!
